A note to my reader
Have you ever noticed you speak one way with a person and another way with a different one? Rest assured you are not alone. This is a universal experience.
Apart from who we are, where we come from, where we live, and other social and demographic factors, the way we feel plays a very strong role in how we develop, use and adapt language. In the end, it shapes our minds. The truth is… we never speak the same way because language is very dynamic and so are our cognitive abilities.
Identity matters…
Cherish it!
Analyzed languages and varieties: Uruguayan Spanish, Canadian English, Uruguayan Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Mexican-American Spanish, California English.
